My wordle of the Conversations with Dead People shooting script. Is it just me or does this kinda look like a body?

I just came across this Dean Trippe supergirl drawing yesterday.
I think I’m in love with his art and I don’t even like superheroes!

I think my head just exploded.
Check out this Buffy review from the NY Times but only if you don’t care about Buffy comic spoilers or if you’ve already read Buffy number 12.
Sadly, comics don’t arrive to my town until Thursday or Friday so I have to wait at least a day while everyone basks in the crazy Buffy goodness. Usually I don’t read the spoilers for the Buffy comics because I like to be surprised but today, I don’t know how I’ll stand waiting. I may need an intervention…

Last week, 2/21 was my birthday and it officially rocked and I have to say I’m overwhelmed with the amount of loot I ended up with as a result; carmen went overboard this year because we didn’t buy each other christmas gifts (because we bought cross country skis instead) and my mom got me an awesome ebay find – the Amber Benson Mystery Auction which contained more than I could have thought possible. So it was AMBER-TASTIC, GEEK-TASTIC, COMIC-TASTIC and loads of fun.
I know it’s not all about the gifts, but seriously I ended up with SO MUCH I’m going to be in an abundance of birthday goodness for many months to come.
Here’s a run down of what I got:
Tools and supplies to make tons of these in any color in the rainbow (and then some)

My new favorite hobby is making tiny felt animals out of fiber with pointy things and is surprisingly fun and soothing at the same time. Soothing, that is, when you’re not accidentally stabbing yourself with the very sharp needles needed to make the animals.
A felt breathing dragon kit – pictures are sure to follow after I make him.
Battlestar Galactica: Razor DVD – full of awesomeness!
Battlestar Galactica: The Official Companion Season Three – can I just say how excited I am about season 4 which starts in April?
Bite Me!: The Chosen Edition The Unofficial Guide to Buffy The Vampire Slayer - this book totally rocks! It is so up to date it even mentions the season 8 comics. I love it!
Amber Benson’s Chance DVD – funny, yet rough but still something every crazed AB fan should own. There’s a great, yet inappropriate line in there – anyone who sees the movie and knows me should know which one it is…
Amber Benson’s Lovers, Liars and Lunatics DVD – this one was much higher quality and really funny. Amber has a funny sense of humor and has lots of good one liners.
A Tim Cotterill bronze frog named Sky – I love him, the only frog I’ll ever have that won’t die.
And then the Amber craziness begins…
Included in my magical box of wonder was the following:
All this, not to mention the comic shopping spree carmen took me on as a special treat for my birthday, made for a very geektastic day and one of the best birthdays ever!

Ok, if you’re a SIP fangirl/boy like I am and you haven’t checked out the sipfans forum then you’re really missing out. I’ve been a member of several forums before and so far this one takes the cake as far as nice people and lack of haters. Also, this…

Looks familliar right? The first time I saw it I just thought that it was the Jo Chen cover of Buffy Season 8, issue 1. But look closer…
Pretty sweet if I do say so myself!

Carmen has been in Florida this past week visiting family so I have been left to my own devices while she is away. It wasn’t all fun and fluff though, I worked SUPER hard and have hardly been able to walk these past two days as a result but I think it will all be worth it once carmen sees everything…
Anyway, while she has been away I have also taken it upon myself to read as many comics as I possibly can because my hoarding is beginning to look a lot like my brother-in-law’s (hi david - he he) although the size of my comic collection is far inferior to the great one’s collection and I should only be so lucky to be able to own that many comics in my lifetime. AND it is also inferior to the mass quantities of yarn someone *ahem carmen* has been collecting. IT’S BEGINNING TO TAKE OVER THE PLANET HOUSE! Seriously, I have but a meager shelf for my comics, one shelf, the space of which is slowly being stolen by carmen’s yarning books. We have yarn in the living room, yarning projects in the bathroom, the washer is a yarning tool, and the office is acting as yarn overflow. I think it’s time for an intervention is all I’m saying.
Anyway, more about the stuff I’ve been doing while carmen is away, which includes comics. Yay!
Ok, can I just say that the end of SIP was awesome! Of course, it wasn’t as awesome as this but I may just print that out and put it in the end of the final SIP trade. Terry Moore has done nothing but impress me throughout and I can’t wait for his new comic to start. Seriously, I have the release date marked on my special calendar dedicated to comic buying and everything. I know I’m way behind in the times but it was well worth the wait to savor every single issue of SIP in the course of 1.5 weeks. I may even read it again sometime soon just on principle.
And, Joss, all I can say is wow! The latest Buffy comic was so good and had a lot of lesbitastic moments including Willow’s fantasy with Tina Fey (Joss must be reading him some serious After Ellen blogs). And he also made a crazy revalation about the death of Tara. Something of which I am still reeling over several years later. Anyone who loves Buffy and doesn’t read the comics definitly should pick up the newest issue or the entire collection so far because it’s well worth the read!
Ok, I guess that’s enough rambling for the time being but everyone MUST READ COMICS! Your life and your sanity depends on it. Go to your comic shop now Now NOW!

How ironic is it that my favorite comic of the new year, 2008, is a comic which ended its run in 2007? Too bad I can’t help myself.
I’ve been rereading Strangers in Paradise (SIP) to prepare for the shocking conclusion, not that it’s really shocking but I wouldn’t know because I haven’t read it yet… But my brother-in-law keeps pestering me so I want to read everything before I can say yes, I finally finished SIP and then we can discuss. Carmen, on the other hand, fell off the SIPfest before it even began. I waited and waited for her but no love, she’s too busy knitting. So I started reading it myself and so far I’m finding that I missed so much when I initially read most of the series and I have really enjoyed rereading it.
Terry Moore is awesome and I hope he comes to comicon this year so I can see him in person. He’s got a new series coming out called Echo later this year and I’m sure it will be another favorite of the year. AND he’s also writing Runaways for a year and that’s one of my faves too so a Terry-tastic year is to be had up in the far north! If that’s not enough, he also did the art for a Buffy comic featuring Willow and Tara, it can’t get much better than that.
Also, this cartoon he posted today is hilarious!
Terry, you’re my hero!
